may, 2003

aly had a great birthday after all. we took her to legoland a couple of days before which is her favourite place in the world besides disney. on the day of her birthday we were staying with helen in colchester and went to the zoo for the day and then had a little birthday party in the evening (cake, balloons, hats, blowers etc!) [thank you helen]

the birthday all seems a million miles away now after doing so much travelling since. we've been down to windsor and london this week. we spend a lovely afternoon with liz, bryn and eve in windsor despite the rain, spent the night in basingstoke [don't ask why?!] then took the children into the office after a short trip BACK to the hotel to retrieve aly's 'doggy'. i looked after them in the morning and sascha took care of them while i went to a meeting in the afternoon. apparently they had a lovely time on buses, tubes and in the parks around the palace.

after my meeting it seems i don't desperately need to be in london next week so will stay up in wirral with my poor jet lagged parents. unfortunately that means no get together at the street for me :-(
