canada day

media gallery / 2003 / canada day

for canada day we went to the steveston salmon festival [oh these canadians and their fish!] - unfortunately the famed salmon dinner was 10 dollars and a 45 minute line so we skipped it AND we seem to have missed the children's festival?! anyway, the children enjoyed the parade and fairground rides. toby had his first go on a proper ride all by himself but it was a train so we couldn't really go wrong [this was while aly and daddy were on the ferris wheel]. he learnt from the big kids around him to wave every time he went past the row of parents and loved every second of it - he showed aly the ropes when they went on for a second time! aly was decidedly unsure about the fireworks in the evening but very patriotically used her canadian flag to cover her eyes!
