we decided to take the hour and a quarter journey to dinotown to make up for the fact we couldn't go to victoria for the weekend. they loved it just as much as they had 2 yrs before. as before, toby disappeared for the day to play the sporty stuff while aly did everything else. and as before, the park was pretty much deserted. of course little miss social [aly] met a school friend within seconds of arriving there!

on the way back we stopped at 'castle fun park'. it was quite the place. we were just expecting a mini golf course but there were 3 mini golf courses - 2 indoor and 1 outdoor, 2 game arcades, batting cages, driving range, amusement park style shooting range etc. we opted for the indoor ocean themed mini-golf. it was in the basement and very cool - enough to look at for aly to be happy that she was playing golf. at the end toby was the only one of us who won a free round so he and sascha played another round [quite funny since toby was young enough that we didn't actually have to pay for him to play in the first place!]
