Joyce Sheldrake nee Milligan

Joyce arrived, born at home, on July 2nd 1947 - 3 months early. Her chances of survival were incredibly slim. She slept in a drawer since no nursery was ready. It wasn't until she became very jaundiced that she was eventually taken into hospital.

She trained to become a comptomotor operator - a huge machine used to calculate bill of quantity. In 1973 she gave birth to Peta and in 1978 had Kellie. After having Kellie the family moved a short distance from Bromborough to Eastham (in Wirral). She continued calculating bills of quantity (later with a calculator) and had her own business for many years. In 2002 she became a Creative Memories scrapbook consultant.

She has a love of all things Disney, and the family has always taken many trips to Disneyworld and Disneyland.

Diane Jenner nee Milligan

Born 1953 (the year of the coronation) in Birkenhead. Moved to 53 Lloyd Drive Greasby when she was 2.

Always loved sports, so excelled at school where she was Sports Captain in her final year. Stayed at Pensby Secondary Modern School for 5 years (the first year that had 5th formers). Met husband Stewart at Upton Tennis Club. They married after Stewart had spent 9 months working in Canada. Stewart owned a house in Stoke-on-Trent so they lived there for a year or so after they were married. Di continued working for Lloyds Bank until she had Benjamin. Daniel was born 23 months later. They lived in Manor Road, Eastham after Stoke-on-Trent, and then moved to a bigger house in Raby Mere.

She took a part time job in the local sports Centre as a receptionist and continued to work there until another part time job transpired at Landican Cemetary. As this job was only supposed to be for 3 months she continued with her other job at the Sports Centre. It was 3 years before she gave up both jobs to work full time in the office of another Sports Centre.

Di's favourite activity is holiday making, particularly in sunny countries. An active person who is always on the go she is the type that 'Makes things happen'.

Ronald (Ron) Milligan

Born 1959 on Grand National Day, he was made a huge fuss of by his big sisters. A true 'boy' from the word go he was a very inventive child. He would spend hours devising games with cars, wearing out the knees on his pyjamas and trousers. Football became his first love, particularly West Ham United (Unusual, considering most boys supported either Liverpool or Everton).

He followed in his Dad's footsteps and joined the Merchant Navy at an early age. Saw most of the world, but frustrated his family with letters to home telling not of his travels, but more his conquests on the dart board or snooker table.

His final time in the Merchant Navy was spent in the Falklands War. During this time he kept a journal, which gives an insight into what he lived through. His Falklands medal is one of his most treasured possessions.
